Working with GRAVIS, for the empowerment of the impoverished rural communities of the Thar Desert can be quite an enlightening experience for any human being. GRAVIS works at the grassroots via its field center for the collective rise of the desert communities. Caught in a vicious cycle of intense water scarcity, poverty, lack of nutrition, health care, and education, the condition of the desert populations is dreadfully heart wrenching. So, all one sees in the vicinity are poverty stricken emaciated faces longing for a few drops of water, haunting eyes questioning the laws of nature, and a parched terrain eroding the existence of the inhabitants bit by bit. In the past years, many volunteers from India and abroad have worked with GRAVIS to improve the living condition of the desert communities. There are many ways of volunteering for GRAVIS, depending upon individual capacity, interest, and inclination. A few ways by which you can also be a part GRAVIS' endeavor are: developing reports on various projects being implemented by GRAVIS; conducting research in the areas in which GRAVIS is currently working, namely water conservation, women empowerment, health and so on and so forth; volunteering in the implementation of the various projects with GRAVIS; and supporting us by your contribution in cash or kind to name a few.
